Blu-Ray Duplication Process

By Darrel Jefferson

You are a new filmmaker with a new film that is bound to impress everyone that sees it. You are excited to get your new film out there because you know that it will quickly catch on. Large screenings are difficult so you are planning on doing a different tactic and are going to try your hand at selling your movie as DVD's. What is the best way for you to increase your DVD's? Whether you are trying to get CD's or DVD's made, it can be confusing on what method you should use. DVD duplication is one method that many people might overlook but the many benefits shouldn't be forgotten. Below are some of the benefits of duplication and why it might be best for you.

The benefit of the blue laser is that it reads at a shorter wavelength than the red laser, picking up on the more subtle pits and grooves imprinted on Blu-ray discs. The discs have more capacity for memory, allowing there to be infinitely more detail and content. As it is also compact and relatively inexpensive, it is a viable option for mass production and duplication.

All of these processes are handled in a mass producing factory, worked by automated machines in order to not allow for any error. Blu-Ray replication begins with master copies which must be provided on a portable hard drive, unlike DVD masters. Then a glass master, or aluminum master disc, is created from that. The glass master is then used to stamp the information and content into the hot polycarbon. This allows the Blu-Ray player to be able to read the imprints on the discs.

Another important aspect of the Blu-Ray replication process is adding the finishing touches at the end - the disc artwork. This is a simple process where images are printed on by either the screen or offset printing process.

CD and DVD duplication not only is able to copy your CDs or DVDs but you can also choose what you want printed on the top of your discs for an included price.

Print using thermal transfer - This is a more permanent option for your CDs and will not have the thickness problem but you deal with expensive printers that are able to use thermal transfer. Unless you have lots of CDs to duplicate, this is an expensive option.

If you are looking for something that will last and will have the highest quality, then you are absolutely going to want to move towards keeping a standard of quality. Services of duplication companies can keep the same quality of the original and really add a quality element to your product on the discs.

It does not take long for a Blu-Ray to be duplicated, which allows for a quick distribution process which is absolutely necessary for mass production. Once you have the proper equipment, you will even be able to burn Blu-Ray discs from your home, just like you are able to with CDs and DVDs.
